Who We Are

We represent a wide range of professions, from attorneys to consultants, educators to recruiters, bankers to Internet developers. Whether  entrepreneurs or multinational corporation executives, members of the Exchange Club of New Canaan are drawn together by shared basic attitudes: our love for our families and our country; our respect for human dignity and one another; and our compassion for our fellow man.

Our central focus is support for the prevention of child abuse

  What We Do

The Exchange Club of New Cancan serves the community in many ways. We donate to other local nonprofit charities and service organizations, support many of their fund-raising activities, and participate in community events. While we provide support for many local charitable organizations and causes, our central focus is support for the prevention of child abuse. In particular, we provide financial and volunteer support to the Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center in Stamford, CT., and raise awareness in the community of the tragedy of child abuse and the urgent need to fight it.

We generate the funds we donate by conducting fund-raising activities throughout the year. For the past 40 years, one of our primary activities has been the sale of Christmas trees. Other major fund-raising events include the Annual Golf Tournament and our annual Auction/Dinner Dance, at which all auctioned items are donated by local merchants.

How To Become A Member

We look for community-minded candidates of good character, who would enjoy the camaraderie afforded by the New Canaan Exchange Club.

Candidates attend as our guest two regularly scheduled dinner meetings where they are introduced to the membership by their sponsor or co-sponsor. After the meetings, if the candidate continues to be interested in the Club, they will be given a membership proposal form. The completed, signed forms are returned to the Club Secretary, who submits them to the Board of Directors for approval.

Individuals interested in learning more about the Exchange Club should contact a member or write to us at P .O. Box 1163, New Canaan, CT 06840-1163
